- Abstract
This descriptive survey study aims to identify the level of self-perception of text analysis tasks in terms of interest, perceived competence, perceived choice and pressure. A total of 55 form four students through purposive sampling technique are involved in this study. The adapted Task Evaluation Inventory which have been verified by two content matter expert in history education and have good reliability values are the instrument of this study. The data were analyzed descriptively through the IBM SPPS software. The findings of this study indicated that the level of self-perception of text analysis tasks is at a moderate level. Furthermore, self-perception in terms of interests, perceived competencies and perceived choices is at a high level, while selfperception of pressure aspect is at low level in this study. The implication of this study have suggested that history teachers can design text analysis tasks as one of effective learning activities in the classroom.
