- Abstract
Working environment pose a strong impact in sustaining workers' commitment to the organization. Several studies had shown that the low workers' commitment were affect to their performance that eventually increase absenteeism problem, stress, occurrences accidents at work and disturbing employees' well-being. Study examines the relationship of working environment towards workers' commitment. One hundred employees at the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) was involved in this study. The two survey instruments which refers to Work Environment Survey (WES) and Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) were used in this study. The result showed there is a significantly affect to workers' commitment included physical environment, occupational safety and health aspects, workload, the workers relationship and technology aspects towards workers' commitment. Therefore, changes related working environment aspect especially on physical working environment factors such as altering work condition and workstation, implementing OSH training and safety culture, will help to ensure workers' commitment. At the end, a better working environment, improve workers' performance and well-being can be achieved.
