- Title
GOLD: South Africa.
- Abstract
The article reports on the declined in mine production to 9% in South Africa. It states that Freegold, Beatrix, and Great Noligwa have posted multiple-tonne losses while the lack of significant turnaround had contributed more to the reduction. The impact of the power situation in the country may lead it to fall in the number three or four in the country rankings in 2008. However, Ghana has increased its output by five tonnage, making it up for a third consecutive year. Mail production fell to 52 tonnage as some of its maturing operations decreased output.
