Deadly Floods Sweep Across Africa.
- Abstract
The article reflects on the deadly floods that sweep across Africa. According to the African authorities, an estimated one million people across the country have been hit by prolonged rains which have destroyed crops, burst dams and left dozens dead, as of August 16, 2007. Among of the regions hit by the massive flooding includes: parts of Ghana, Togo, Senegal, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Niger, Chad, Mali, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, and Liberia. It states that in Uganda persistent floods have swept away bridges in the east, displaced thousands of people and cut off Teso region from Karamoja.
