- Title
ZIMBABWE: Inflation Is 2,200%.
- Abstract
The article reports on the highest inflation rate of 2,200% in Zimbabwe due to the revalued Zimbabwian dollar reported in April 2007. It was stated that the Central bank Governor Gideon Gono has announced the new rate of Z$15,00 for some exporters, international organizations, gold miners, tobacco farmers and remittances from expatriates. However, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said that the country's central bank has tarnished its credibility as banking system's regulator.
