- Abstract
The article reports on the launching of operations by Neotel, the Second National Operator (SNO) in South Africa. According to the author, Neotel will start with wholesale international services before moving to corporate then residential voice and broadband offerings. He added that Neotel will provide competition with Telkom. He also emphasized that Telkom, which was awarded a legal monopoly in the telecoms arena, is expected to lose 10% to 15% to Neotel.
