- Abstract
The article offers information on the loss of molecule connexins (Cxs) that can cause demyelination in patients suffering with Balbo's disease, a variant of multiple sclerosis (MS). It reports that the symptoms of the disease can be identified by the presence of alternating rings of demyelinated and preserved myelin layer. It discusses the Cx molecules that can form homotypic or heterotypic gap junctions (GJ) between astrocytes and oligodendrocytes.
