- Authors
Brethauer-Gay, Helen
- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of multiple social structures on free choice and control in Tanzania and South Africa. Coercive social facts are created and maintained by groups of individuals that are divided by social structures which are repetitive, stable patterns of social relationships in a social system. Contextual differences between the social locations created by the intersection of class, religion, and gender on an individual psychological attribute are delved into through a cross-national comparative analysis.
