- Abstract
The article focuses on diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in horse. It mentions clinical signs of the disease like weight loss, diarrhea and abdominal pain and considers fecal worm egg count and tapeworm enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay as initial diagnostic tests. It reports that duodenal mucosal biopsies, rectal biopsies and intestinal biopsies provide diagnostic histopathological evaluation and granulomatous enteritis as a type of IBD.
