B Conclusions: b After 3 months of contraceptive use, microbiome diversity did not differ significantly between adolescent women using progestin-based contraceptives and those using condoms only. The overall objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of continued use of 3 types of progestin-based contraceptives, levonorgestrel intrauterine device (LNG-IUD), subdermal etonogestrel (ETNG), and injectable Depot medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA), in adolescent girls from the Washington DC metro area, a region of high HIV prevalence.
