- Abstract
The article discusses a study that investigated the illegal mass killing of Indian pangolin (Manis crassicaudata) in the Potohar region in Pakistan from January 2011 to May 2012. Findings discovered that a total of 118 Indian pangolin were brutally killed in the districts of Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum and Rawalpindi during the period. The direct involvement of nomads and local hunters in the illegal trade of the mammal is highlighted. It also considers the high demand and value given to the scales of Indian pangolins.
