- Abstract
In this article, the author discusses her experiences attending the Jewish summer camp Habonim Camp Kvutza Naame in the Angeles National Forest in California. The author explains the camp's association with Labor Zionist youth movements and the kibbutz, or Israeli collective farms. The use of the Hebrew language throughout the camp is detailed, along with the work and training of the camp's counselors, or madrichim. The importance of Shabbat to the operations of the camp is described, as are the camp's more traditional recreational activities.
