- Abstract
The article discusses how World War II impacted the Jewish community of Pasadena, California. Based on oral histories, the author considers civilian war efforts such as the hosting of Saturday night USO (United Service Organizations) dances for soldiers posted at Camp Santa Anita, hosting an entertainment event featuring comedian Eddy Cantor to raise money for the war effort through the sale of U.S. war bonds, and the relocation of the Jewish congregation of Temple B'nai Israel to a new building in 1942.
