- Abstract
The article discusses the influences made by the Syrian Jewish community upon the Sephardic community living in Seattle, Washington. Given the significant number of people comprising the Syrian Jewish community and are spread across the U.S. during the 20th century, it is claimed that such community has been able to transform the Sephardic community into having a definitive religious practice, social contacts and educational opportunities. Since the Syrian Jewish's existence in the state, the Seattle Sephardic community has been comprised of members more of Jews rather than Americans. These members have also prompted to go the East for purposes of Jewish education.
