- Abstract
The article discusses the influence of an early 19th century American schooner on Swedish shipbuilding and the innovative rigging design observed through archival records and models of the ship. The article describes how the schooner "Experiment" entered the port of Karlskrona, Sweden and influenced the future design Swedish naval vessels after being studied by Swedish naval engineers. The records of the ship's rigging design at the Military Archives of Sweden is discussed, along with the miniature model of the schooner at the Naval Museum in Karlskrona.
