- Abstract
The article discusses ischemic mitral regurgitation (MR) as a complication of coronary heart disease; following a myocardial infarction. The article also discusses that the optimal treatment of ischemic MR is a matter of controversy and there is wide variation in practice among cardiovascular surgeons. The article concludes that the definition of moderate tricuspid regurgitation (TR) has not been changed to severe; instead, the recommendation is for surgical intervention in moderate TR.
