- Title
Using John Wilders to Teach Shakespeare's Second Tetralogy.
- Authors
Taft, Edmund M.
- Abstract
The article discusses the benefits of using the book "The Lost Garden: A View of Shakespeare's English and Roman History Plays" by John Wilders in order to teach undergraduate and graduate students about playwright William Shakespeare's second tetralogy, composed of the plays "Richard II," "Henry V," and Parts I and II of "Henry IV." Particular focus is given to the ways in which Wilders' notion that the Biblical Fall of man informs much of Shakespeare's work can help explain these plays to students.
