- Abstract
After the Second World War, Italy tried to re-establish normal diplomatic relations with the Western Allies: Australia was one of its targets. Although the Italian emigrated there were imprisoned during the war, the great part of them aspired to stay and a detailed agreement on emigration became urgent. The present essay analyzes the difficult diplomatic strategy developed by Italy to restore a strict relationship with Canberra Government on this matter.
