The article discusses the challenges and strategies in the prosecution of federal offenses involving three-dimensional (3D)-printed firearms in the U.S. Topics include the successful testing of a 3D-printed firearm developed by Defense Distributed, the debates on the possible crisis on public safety and national security of the said firearms, and the framework for criminal enforcement of 3D-printed firearms under federal law.
