- Abstract
The article discusses the adverse effects of the political activities prohibition policy implemented by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations on the free speech rights of these organizations. Also cited are the policy's complete ban on political campaign advocacy, the need to advance the First Amendment speech rights of nonprofit domestic violence organizations, and the scheduled 2018 reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).
