The article discusses the effects of the 'nuclear family' concept on the plight of poor Asian-American families in the U.S. Also cited are the effects of the failure by the government to recognize multi-generational households like insufficient welfare programs, tax programs, educational programs, and housing, as well as the need for Congress to legislate programs aimed at multi-generational households.
