JOHANAN, KARMA BEN
- Abstract
An essay is presented that discusses the role of Christianity in the thought of Rabbi Avraham Yitzhak Ha-Cohen Kook. Topics include Kook's views on the relation of Judaism to Christianity and Islam in light of the thought of philosopher Moses Maimonides, the notion that Christianity is a form of idolatry, and a comparison of Kook's anti-Christian critique to the thought of the philosophers Friedrich Nietzsche and G. W. F. Hegel. The relation of secularism and secularization to Judaism is noted.
