- Abstract
This article reports the first case of a phytoplasma disease in Celosia argentea, a tropical flower commonly known as plumed cockscomb or silver cockscomb, in Taiwan. The diseased plants exhibited symptoms such as abnormal branching, shortened internodes, and misshaped leaves. The disease was caused by a strain related to 'Ca. P. aurantifolia' and belonged to the 16SrII-A subgroup. This finding expands our understanding of phytoplasma diseases and their impact on plant species in Taiwan and globally.
