- Title
Thermal Design Guidelines for Optimizing Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers.
- Authors
Singh, Satyendra Kumar
- Abstract
The article focuses on improving the thermal design of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger to achieve optimum efficiency. Topics discussed include the role of the heat transfer coefficient in the thermal design of the heat exchanger, the design parameters that are essential to achieving optimum efficiency in heat exchange operations such as fluid placement, shellside bypass, and the effective mean temperature difference, and the author's recommendations on how to adjust these parameters.
