- Title
'Giving Back' Major Motivation for Wealthy Donors….
- Abstract
The article offers statistical data on the attitudes of the wealthiest charitable donors. Bank of America contracted the Center for Philanthropy at Indiana University to conduct a study in order to determine if the loss of tax deductions would reduce the amount of charitable giving among the wealthiest populations. Most of the respondents felt that leaving a legacy was not important, but instead they donated to charities in order to give something back to the communities. Only a fraction of donors said that their contributions would severely decrease if they lost their tax deductions.
