- Title
Music Education for Early Childhood Practitioners: Moving Music from the Margins into the Child Care Centre.
- Authors
Davies, Angélique
- Abstract
Research has shown the benefits of music experiences in the early years to children's development and learning. Ideally, children enrolled in child care programs would receive music programs developed and implemented by early childhood practitioners. This author argues that an improved standard of music training in College ECE Programs might equip educators with the knowledge, skills and confidence required to provide musical experiences that are both artistic and developmentally appropriate for all children in their care.
