- Abstract
The article discusses the civilization of China during the Han dynasty in the first and second centuries A.D., focusing especially of representations of everyday life depicted on tombstones of the period located in Szechwan. Images from tombs considered depict chariots, hunting, board games, dancing, and pets. Some of the topics considered include foreign commerce and trade, accounts of epidemics, legislation regulating social classes, and the religious beliefs of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism.
