- Abstract
The present study aims to show the contradictions between the policy of free delivery care and its effective application at the University Hospital Center (CHU) of Bouaké. To do this, we interviewed, through four semistructured individual interviews, 20 deliveries and five of their escorts, two gynecologists-obstetricians, two unit supervisors and three midwives, for a total of thirty-two people-resources. This study shows that implementation difficulties depend on perceptions of the content of free delivery care. The negative implications of divergences between users and practitioners undermine the improvement of maternal and child health in Côte d'Ivoire, contrary to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
