The article examines the need of changes in the foreign sovereign debt laws. Topics discussed include the U.S. Second Circuit ruling in the case "NML Capital, Ltd. v. Republic of Argentina" in which creditors sued Argentina under New York law for the repayment of defaulted debt bonds; Argentina's act of debt restructuring and its consequences; and framework for foreign sovereign debt management.
