Studies the short-term effects of sediment recolonization of Nereis succinea (N. succinea) on sediment-water column fluxes of oxygen and dissolved inorganic nitrogen and rates of denitrification in microcosms of homogenized, seived sediments. Reason for an increase in oxygen uptake by the sediments after addition of N. succinea; Variations in nitrate fluxes in microcosms with N. succinea; Effect of N. succinea populations on denitrification rates.
