- Title
“Earth, You Almost Enough”: The Poetry and Poetics of Dennis Lee.
- Authors
Dickinson, Mark
- Abstract
The article examines the poems and poetics of Canadian author Dennis Lee. It describes his role in the publication of some of the foundational texts of Canadian environmental literature. It analyzes Lee's poems and prose from the 1970s which reflect his struggle over the collision between his apprehensions of a deeper reality lying within the everyday world and a modern consciousness predisposed to reject the existence of that deeper reality, including those published in "Civil Elegies."
