- Abstract
The author reflects on the use of microsimulation models (MSMs) as a communication tool in the U.S. health policy making. He states that MSMs are vital tools for assessing the probable behavioral and economic effects of public policies on decision making units including employers, government and individuals. He offers an overview of the health-related MSMs along with its purposes. He also discusses the challenges faced by possible users when making decisions regarding modeling strategies.
