- Abstract
This article explores the significance of years ending with the number "three" in the history of the Republic of Turkey. It focuses on the events of 1963, which had a significant impact on Turkey's development in the latter half of the 20th century. The article also discusses the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923, which established Turkey's current borders, and the proclamation of the Turkish Republic in the same year. It delves into Turkey's relationship with united Europe, including the signing of the Ankara Agreement in 1963 and Turkey's subsequent rejection for European Union membership. The article also touches on the independence of Cyprus from Great Britain in 1960 and the subsequent conflicts between Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots. It provides a collection of sources and references related to the Cyprus conflict, making it a valuable resource for researchers studying the issue and its historical context.
