- Authors
De Cruz, Ryan; Papaluca, Timothy
- Abstract
The article presents a report about an acute stroke at Mount Alexander Hospital (MTA), a general practice (GP)-run facility in Castlemaine, Victoria. It compares the management of the stroke patient at the hospital with the National Stroke Foundation's 2007 Acute Stroke Management Guidelines (ASM). ASM recommendations from evidence-based practices that achieve optimal patient outcomes are enumerated. The report concludes that limited access to radiological services and shortage of specialist physicians affected provision of best-practice care.
