- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), an anti-spam legislation which was implemented in Canada on July 1, 2014, on the Internet marketing industry. Topics include the difference between CASL and the U.S. anti-spam law CAN-SPAM (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing), the comments of Matt Vernhout, chief privacy officer at Inbox Marketer Corp., and Nathan Yerian, owner of the inbound marketing agency Adhere Creative, on CASL, and the law's impact in terms of compliance, digital marketing efforts, and e-mail data sets and campaign generated insights.
