- Abstract
The article presents the first report of occurrence of Candidatus Phytoplasma aurantifolia, phytoplasmas of group 16SrII in Bolivia. In one of the surveys in Cochabamba, Bolivia in June 2008, plants of podocarpus showed symptoms of leaf size reduction, shortened internodes, and yellowing. After the detection of such symptoms, nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with universal 16S rRNA gene primers was carried out in which all plants yielded PCR amlicons.
