- Abstract
The study aimed to find the impact of awareness regarding prevalence of abusing child and its prevention among university students. Abusing children is an act of mistreatment by parents, guardians, or others, who have a close relation with the child. Abusing child and neglecting can be of any type. The main types of abusing can stress or depress a child. The research objectives were to explore child abusing and neglecting to bring awareness among students and to analyze the impact of student's awareness to prevent the act of abusing and neglecting. The nature of the study was descriptive which helped the researcher to focus on examining the phenomena of student's awareness. The self-constructed questionnaire was the primary data collection instrument. The researcher used a questionnaire because it is more convenient to collect data from a larger sample. The study shows that the awareness of university students about abusing and neglecting is adequate and good. Students know about the negative consequences and are aware about the forms of this phenomenon.
