- Abstract
Asymptotic homogenization technique and two-scale convergence is used to analyze the quasistatic deformation of viscoelastic composite material with a periodic microstructure. The homogenization scheme has been implemented in the time domain along with dimension reduction and linearization of frictional contact of the fibers. In the framework of the beam models for the computation of the effective properties of fabrics, it is shown that their viscoelastic properties are determined not only by the constitutive operators of the fibers, but also by the fabric pattern, which governs the fibers' torsional deformation.
