- Abstract
The article presents information on the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). The American Society for Public Administration is a nationwide, nonprofit education and professional organization, dedicated to improved management in the public service through exchange, development and dissemination of information about public administration. ASPA activities include publications, conferences, education, research, and various special services, all aimed at improved understanding and strengthened administration of the public service. Its membership includes government administrators, teachers, researchers, consultants, students, and civic leaders. In addition, government agencies, universities and other organizations are affiliated with the society on an institutional basis. Society members are located in every state as well as overseas. In response to increasing membership interest in this area, an ASPA ad hoc committee on Budget and Policy Analysis was created in September 1976.
