- Abstract
The author reports on the way in which management communication is taught at the Waikato Management School. The key tensions which are experienced in the teaching of communication at the school are discussed. The role that critical theory has played in the school's communication research program is discussed. The tensions which are felt through the process of translating theory into classroom experiences are mentioned, including the struggle between teaching practical knowledge versus interpretative analysis.
