- Abstract
The article presents a study on tungiasis or sand flea disease, a parasitic skin disease with originated in South America. It notes that the diseases poses many challenges for global public health as it basically neglected by health care providers, policy makers and the pharmaceutical industry. The disease is susceptible to children and elderly people and with severe consequences in dogs, pigs and ruminants.
