- Title
MAIN DISH WITH A SIDE OF VOLUNTARY COMMITMENTS: DISH NETWORK-DIRECTV REVISITED.
- Authors
Carrol, Sean M.
- Abstract
The article focuses on a possible merger between direct broadcast satellite television companies Dish Network Corp. and DIRECTV Inc. The author says that the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) had denied their merger attempt in 2002. The author says that not only will the merger benefit both companies, but if the applicants make certain voluntary commitments, then the merger will likely be in the public interest and thus gain the FCC's approval.
