- Abstract
The article discusses French poet Baudelaire's impact on French and anglophone literature. It highlights the influence with poet Poe, Edgar Allan, English writer De Quincy and British writers. It emphasizes the influence on English poet Swinburne and American-British poet T. S. Eliot, who represented Decadents and Modernists respectively. It reports that Swinburne's poetry often lacks the depth and innovation of Baudelaire's work.
