- Title
Procera Aluminum Oxide Ceramics: A New Way to Achieve Stability, Precision, and Esthetics in All-Ceramic Restorations.
- Authors
Hegenbarth, Ernst A.
- Abstract
The article offers information on the Procera aluminum oxide ceramics used in prosthodontics and dental technology. The Procera technology was developed for processing titanium in tooth implant crowns. The application of the Procera system has been used for manufacturing individual crowns made of aluminum oxide ceramics. The technique requires a scanner, a personal computer, and a modem to transmit data. Some companies recommend the preparation of instruments for several types of camfer preparations. The article suggests that a high-quality aluminum oxide coping is expected with the Procera technique. These days the techniques' application is restricted to single crowns and customized aluminum oxide superstructures.
