- Title
Right-Sizing the Registrar’s Office.
- Authors
Moore, Michael; Clingenpeel, David
- Abstract
This article discusses research conducted by Michael Moore and David Clingenpeel from Wake Forest University on determining the appropriate size for a registrar's office. The authors collected data from various institutions in the United States to understand the number of staff members needed in registrar's offices. They found that factors such as student body size, responsibilities, and staff abilities influence the optimal size. The authors suggest cross-training staff, encouraging specialization, using data to justify additional staff, and providing professional development opportunities to retain staff. However, they acknowledge that each institution has unique needs and circumstances, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
