- Title
REVISING OUR APPROACH TO "AUGUSTINIAN ILLUMINATION".
- Authors
Petersen Boring, Wendy
- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights on the Augustinian illumination approach which was unstated as a platonic explanation of knowledge that holds the reality and awareness of divine eternality in God's mind. The author says that it was also different from Aristotle's emphasis on the necessity of the human to material things. The author cites an argument that remarks to Aquinas and Bonaventure's approach which requires a revision approach for the thirteenth century Augustinian illumination. Furthermore, the author notes that the strategies of Aquinas for reconciliation had continued, in which intellectual knowledge was taken from sensible things.
