- Authors
Evangelisti, Paolo
- Abstract
The article focuses on the textual analysis and systematic investigation of Francisco Eiximenis's work which could provide information about the range and significance of political thinking. The analysis is patterned in a typical Franciscan fashion and experimental observations to gain an understanding of the nature both of the societas and of the market. The same experimental approach is applied in Franciscan thinking from the catalan-aragonese realm in the works of Arnau de Vilanova, Ramon Llull, Pere Thomas and Anselm Turmeda. It is also mentioned that the communitarian dimension in Eiximenian texts is defined as one that is necessity based on contract.
