- Abstract
The article discusses the clinical significance of coagulation studies in predicting response to activated recombinant Factor VII (rFVIIa) in cardiac surgery patients. It states that (rFVIIa) is increasingly used for uncontrolled hemorrhage in multiple clinical settings, with a 2-9 percent risk of thromboses adverse events. While some retrospective and observational studies of raffia in cardiac surgery reported improved hemostats and reduced transfusions.
