- Abstract
The article discusses the social aspects of what is referred to as "new' Confucianism in East Asia from the late 16th century through the early 21st century, including the relationship between Buddhism and Confucianism in late 16th century China. An overview of Confucian values and ethics, including their relationship with East Asian values, is provided. Other topics, including of East-West relations, East Asian culture and the relationship between Chinese culture and Confucian values, are discussed.
