Examines whether or not congressional representatives are successful at communicating their policy priorities to their constituents in the U.S. Primary mechanism for communication between the elected representatives and their constituents; Significance of campaigns in increasing citizen's knowledge of the policy priorities and policy positions of candidates; Identification of the extent with which citizens become aware of the issue messages disseminated by representatives and their challengers during political campaigns.
